We live in a changing times

The true end of the post-war period is occurring now. Some have referred to it as the end of the American Century. While that technically ended on December 31, 1999, the real sea-change was some time in October 2008 when the masses caught on the "things ain't what they used to be." There were certainly symptoms but when the financial bottom fell out the American public truly began their era of austerity.

For me, the understanding of how the world was about to change occurred, first at 911 then the final realization was on my first trip to China. From that trip and the many others since then, I measured the United States by a different yard stick.

My immersion into the connected Web 2.0 experience of social networking will fuel my participation in my new world. Today, I talk to people around the world at all times of day. Not only has the world gotten smaller but now I participate in a world that has no time zone.
