I was thinking about the 50’s last week.
Remembering color but seeing black and white
Not seeing color– just gray shades of matter
The 50’s look better than color and light
Slick, fast and young with free wheeling action
Fast passing rhythms at play as a youth
A hue of full passion– no fades or retractions
Physical action with an energy boost
Once as a man of twenty or thirty
With storied inaction and twisting baroque
Second thought meanings began to take root
The 50’s had faded along with my hope
I primed for transition for new focused tones
Styled a new message, presented new forms
I shaped a new present, new mindset and mission
Stepped-over resistance and create new norm
Views with perspective often exclude
The lines and directions of life’s long lot
Prospectively shading – not simply renaming
What you are now not what you were not
I was thinking about the 50’s - alone last week
Remembering color after years of want
Today is much better - not pale - not clever
Just nice colored pleasure not wondering whether
Life after life will have color or not
